History
Winter Garden is a city located in the western part of downtown Orlando. It’s a ‘charming city with a big-time history’ as locals would say. In fact, there are several stories about the origin of its name but regardless of which story is the truth, the name itself is just one of the reasons why this city is amazing.
During the 19th century, this place gained its wealth from the booming citrus industry. And in 1903, Winter Garden was incorporated as a town with A.B. Newton as the first elected Mayor.
A couple of decades after, this city continued to develop and now it’s basically one of the best places to visit, especially if you enjoy sightseeing or even for those who’d like to settle down.

This place has a warm and humid subtropical climate and it has two major seasons each year.

Area and Lifestyle
Winter Garden is sitting right next to Lake Apopka so you can just imagine the variety of water activities you can do here such as fishing or boating. Furthermore, you can also try some outdoor sports like horseback riding or golf.
What makes Winter Garden really perfect is its proximity to everyday essentials. Everything you’ll ever need is a stone’s throw away.
If you want some historical tour, you can walk along the historic downtown teeming with great restaurants and shops. To mention a few must-try restaurants, there’s Al Fresco, Moon Crickey Grille and Taquitos Jalisco. For those who’d like to go shopping, there’s Plant Street Market. It’s basically a refurbished indoor marketplace that features 20 different vendors selling a variety of local, organic and handmade products. Inside you’ll find the Crooked Can brewery, EuroBake which serves European pastries, a couple of juice bars, plus an Oxygen Bar (yep, an o-xy-gen bar). It’s definitely a one-stop-shop for buyers.
In addition, Winter Garden is just a few hours away from the popular Florida beaches and other tourist attractions.
