What is Unique about Heritage Village?
Originally opened in the late 1960's active retirees are still drawn to Heritage Village for the affordable homes, great lifestyle and proximaty to NYC, Boston & Hartford. Their are not many places where you can still buy a home for $100k, but here you can and with tons of amenities.
The main Activity Center is home to a 200+ Seat Auditorium, Outdoor Pool and Fitness Center. To keep the character of the communiy they wisely converted some old barns, stables and homesteads to Activity Buildings. You'll find card and arts & crafts rooms and a catering kitchen in the Fireside Barn. The Lodge is home to a second outdoor pool, sport courts and muti-purpose and game rooms. The former homestead of famous celebrity Victor Borge was also converted to an activity building for residents. A favorite among Woodworking enthusiasts is the Winship Barn where residents can make all kinds of hand made wood crafts. A second Barn called the Stable Studio is the community Arts & Crafts Center, where residents can pursue everything from Pottery, Stain Glass to Jewelry making.
In addition to the numerous onsite amenities you'll find friendly neighbors and a long list of Lifestyle Clubs to serve virtually every interest and passion. However for many that live here its the two seperate member golf courses that keep them busy.

Industry Expert Review
Residents love the non pretentious, affordable and active lifestyle this community offers. Its often said its the people that make the neighborhood and that is definitley the case at Heritage Village. Their is a bit of a trade off to the affordable home prices. Which is residents should be mindful that older homes are less energy effecient and some may be in need of updating. The HOA are a little on the high side but also off set by lower property taxes in this area. Were some might find it dated and old others love to say its homey, friendly and affordable. Overall its offers a great lifestyle at a great price which earns it high marks in our book!
