History

Before this place became known as Studio City, it was originally called as “Laurelwood”. So when did it change? It was only when a famous film producer named Mack Sennett built a studio lot here in 1927. Maybe they thought the new name would be much more appealing than the old one. This same studio became what we all know right now as the CBS Studio Center.

Presently, this city is now part of Los Angeles County in Southern California.

Area and Lifestyle

Studio City is one of the best places to retire thanks to its location and proximity to famous tourist destinations like the Universal Studios, Hollywood and downtown L.A. It’s also pretty close to business districts which makes this place absolutely livable!

Furthermore, compared to other neighboring cities, the price of houses here is much more affordable.

When it comes to eating out, there are tons of new and amazing restaurants to try out, plus you’ll find two of the best sushi restaurants here in LA which is the Asanebo and Sugarfish.

For some top-of-the-line BBQ whether if its beef briskets, wings or tri-tips, the perfect place to go to is Barrel and Ashes.

If you’re looking for a classy place to spend a good date well there’s The Fiscal Agent. It’s a little bit expensive, but that’s why it’s a date, right?

Studio City might not be the traditional suburb that you may be expecting, but it’s definitely still a good place to visit or even settle down.
