History
Chino Hills has a long history as a city surrounded by rolling hills and meadows which were extensively used for grazing cattle, horses and other livestock. When this land was sold to Richard Gird in 1910, the town of Chino itself sprung up.
In mid-1970s, this place was mainly a rural town with most of the land used for equestrian or dairy purposes. A few years passed and Chino turned into a city.
In 2008, it was recognized by the FBI as the 13th safest city in the United States. And in 2012, it was ranked 34th in Money Magazine’s list of “Best places to live in America”.

Area and Lifestyle
More than the rolling hills, horses, cattle, and meadows, Chino Hills has a couple more interesting things to offer. First on the list is the Chino Hills State Park where you can go picnicking and sightseeing. Call your friends for a game of bowling at Chaparral 300. They also serve food and drinks there.
The Shoppes at Chino Hills offer a variety of gift and specialty shops. You and your friends can catch the latest movies at Harkins Theater.
There is also a bunch of must-try local restaurants here like Lucille’s Smokehouse Bar-B-Que, a chic regional chain that serves slow-cooked meats and other Southern-style fare plus cocktails. If you want something Hawaiian then check out Oke Poke (like okey dokey). Here, you can customize your order by choosing the size of your bowl, base like rice, salad, noodles or cucumber; add-ons, fish, sauce and toppings. It’s healthy, it’s light and it’s delicious.
For something Mexican there’s Oh Queso or if you want to try something exotic then go to Mes Amis, a Lebanese restaurant which serves classic Lebanese-Mediterrean fare with a modern twist accompanied by occasional belly dancing performances.
